Cocksfood: Minora
Agricultural utilities;
Is a medium early variety, and has good winter hardiness. Gives high yields of fresh and dry weight throughout the period of use. Yielding stable stands out in the next swath and years of use. It gives a large yield of feed energy especially in the first swath. It is characterized by good regrowth of plants in the spring and after subsequent cuttings. Plants are tall, with high rainfall susceptible to lodging in the first swath. The variety has good reproductive capacity. This variety has a medium soil and medium fertilizer requirements.
Growing for seed;
Minora variety if has better conditions for supply of soil nutrients and water reacts very strong vegetative growth. Seed production should not be assumed on very fertile soil and too wet, and in areas with higher rainfall.
When grown for seed is sown cocksfoot rationally common in early spring in a spring barley, a reduced amount of seed grain. Make sowing a cover crop in the first place. Then across the rows are planted grass seed to a depth of 1.5 cm.
The recommended sowing rate for grass is 3-5 kg per ha. The recommended width spacing for seed is 50-70 cm.
In each year of the harvest to sow 80-100 kg P2O5 and 80-120 kg K2O per ha and nitrogen at doses of 80-90 kg per ha in early spring and 40-60 kg per ha after harvest of seed, or plant protection.
For weed control in spring barley with undersown orchard grass can be used Mustang 306 SE at a dose of 06 l / ha. In the case of annual weeds we recommend used Stomp330 SC formulation at a dose of 5 l / ha. Plantations older (1-3 years) Stomp 330 SC 5 l / ha + Mustang 306 SE at 0.6 l / ha.
Harvesting can be done in different ways:
- A collection of two-phase - rotary mower mowing at the beginning of seed shedding at the height of 40-50 cm., then combine with the swath threshing
- Combine a set of double-first from the trunk (high mowing), the second of drying up swaths.
Then quickly collect straw and crop residues. After the threshing is necessary to pre-cleaning and drying of seeds.
Cultivation for green masse;
Cocksfoot for green matter can be grown on all soils except dry sandy soils and wetlands. However, gives the highest yields on fertile soils. Good yield of lighter soils, but sufficiently moist and richly fertilized with nitrogen.
Cocksfoot can be grown in pure stand or as undersown in cereals. When grown without a cover crop, sown cocksfoot can be up to 15 August. For best results, however, early-sowing and summer (June, July). Practicing as an undersown in cereals, good results are achieved by sowing in early spring barley.
When grown in pure stand pre-applied mineral fertilizers at a dose of about 50 kg N, 60-90 kg P2O5 and 80-120 kg K2O per ha. In the full use of phosphate fertilizers in quantities of 100-120 kg P2O5 per ha may be sown at once in early spring, while the nitrogen and potassium should be supplied to each set in a dose of 60-80 kg N and 50-70 kg K2O per ha. Seeding cocksfoot as undersown increase the phosphorus-potassium fertilization of spring barley by about 40%. After harvesting, sow a cover crop must be 60-80 kg N per ha.
Pre-sowing crops in the band should strive for accurate alignment weed free fields.
When grown in pure stand should be 12-15 kg of seeds sown per 1 ha, while in plant protection than around 15-20 kg / ha.
In the year we make full use of 3-4 cuts. The first crop should be collected at the beginning of earing plants, and the latest by 30 September.
