Cultivation for green matter
Red fescue can be grown in pure stand or as an undersown in spring barley.
When grown in pure stand pre-applied mineral fertilizers at a dose of approximately 40 - 50 kg N, 60-90 kg P2O5 and 80-120 kg K2O per ha. In the full use of phosphate fertilizers in quantities of 100-120 kg P2O5 per ha may be sown at once in early spring, while the nitrogen and potassium should be supplied to each set in a dose of 40-60 kg N and 40-50 kg K2O per ha. Sowing red fescue, as undersown increase the phosphorus-potassium fertilization of spring barley by about 40%.
Pre-sowing crops in the band should strive for accurate alignment weed free fields.
When grown in pure stand should be 12-15 kg of seeds sown per 1 ha, while in plant protection around 15-20 kg / ha.
In the year we make full use of 3-4 sets.

Growing for seeds.
Red fescue for seed collection should be grown in areas with lower rainfall, on soils of class III b-IV b. Seed crops must be assumed in the fields weed free.
When grown for seed is sown rational red fescue in early spring in spring barley, a reduced amount of seed grain. Make sowing a cover crop in the first place. Then across the rows are planted grass seed to a depth of 1.5 cm.
The recommended sowing rate for red fescue is 8 kg per ha.
In each year of the harvest to sow 100-120 kg P2O5 and 100-120 kg K2O per ha and nitrogen at doses of 30-50 kg per ha in early spring and 40-60 kg per ha after harvest of seed, or plant protection.
For weed control chemicals used in accordance with the recommendations of plant protection.
The set of red fescue seed can be carried by the following methods:
- A collection of two-phase - mowing and threshing combine
- Desiccation by Reglone and combine in one phase
